Narrative
On 13 August 1955 at 0220Z near Beloit, Wisconsin, a 37-year-old GOC observer reported a single round bright red baseball-sized object with a short tail. The object was at 45 degrees elevation, moving from north to south and back south to north, still appearing at 0450Z (over 2 hours). Observed by ground visual with naked eye. Clear conditions with slight breeze. Two pilots reported meteors over the locale. Senior Director concluded probably astronomical, meteor shower activity, as sighting occurred at height of meteor shower.
