At approximately 2130 CST on 23 February 1953, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hilton of Elkhorn, Wisconsin observed a light yellow ball-shaped object in the southwestern sky at an estimated distance of five miles while returning from Lake Geneva. The object began to move to the north and gradually changed color to orange-red, then to red, then to white (per Mrs. Hilton), before disappearing to the north. Duration two to three minutes. Object did not register on radar. Weather clear with unlimited visibility.
