Narrative
At 0530Z on 17 July 1956, an LA International tower operator and one or two other operators reported a roundish red object at high angle. It was first thought to be an aircraft, then became a ball of flame and disappeared. Observed for several minutes via ground visual and binoculars. ADCC Controller Capt WB Tappan received the report.
