Narrative
At approximately 2105Z on 16 August 1956, an observer in Wheaton, Maryland was playing ball with his son when his son caught attention to a round object. Object traveled at great speed from north to south, made a turn to the east, reached a position 18 degrees from the moon, made a turn upward and disappeared. Duration 18 seconds. No exhaust, trail, or sound. A flight of jets was sighted immediately afterwards. HQ USAF Duty Officer suggested possible aircraft reflecting low-angle light rays.
