Narrative

On 8 January 1953 at 0715 hours over Larson AFB, Washington, approximately 60 personnel of the 82d Fighter-Interceptor Squadron observed an unidentified flying object for about 15 minutes. Descriptions varied (cigar, disc, F-94 tailpipe) but consensus was circular, green, and resembling a large weather balloon. The object moved southwest in bobbing/sideways motion against winds aloft. Two F-94 aircraft were scrambled at 0743 and searched for 30 minutes with no results; radar showed nothing unusual.
