Narrative

On 15 August (year per OCR likely 1955, contemporary with batch sequence) at 0310Z (night), S/Sgt Hansford L. Ayer at Canton GOC observed a round, basketball-sized orange object southeast of post in Plainsville, Ohio. The object moved from west to east faster than a jet, at low variable altitude, making no sound. Observed visually for 1.5 hours. Horsefly (radar) advised Gasbag to investigate area with jet from Selfridge; negative results. Weather at Cleveland 3,000 ft scattered.
