Narrative

On 27 March 1955 at 0331Z, Mrs Lawrence Grawmer, age 45, was on Ground Observer Corps tour of duty near Modesto, California and observed a square white basketball-sized object circling at 20 degrees elevation 180 degrees from her post, then disappearing periodically over 2 hours. The Director of Intelligence at 28th ADiv (Def) noted the observer may have sighted a rotating searchlight of the type used in store openings, movie premieres, and publicity activities. The 4602D AISS concluded possibly searchlight activity.
