Narrative
On 3 March 1955 at 0208Z, a GOC observer at Parkesburg, Pennsylvania reported continuous flashes every few minutes about 25 miles southwest of the post, near Aberdeen Proving Grounds. Five flashes were seen, each burning red to yellowish-green and bursting in the air, expanding to 6-8 feet width at approximately 0405Z. Each burst faded after about 10 seconds, occurring once every minute for about an hour. The sighting was investigated by 26th Air Division; Aberdeen Proving Ground confirmed by telephone that there were test firings at the time. Conclusion: resolved as test firings at Aberdeen.
