Narrative
At 200630Z on 20 July 1952, Allan H. Miller of Eaton Rapids, Michigan, observed an unidentified flying object at 40,000 ft altitude. The object would fade in distance to the east, diminishing in brilliance from a bluish glow to a brilliant golden color, then reappear. The preparing officer 2nd Lt George H. Janczewski offered no explanation. Weather had scattered cirrus at 18,000 ft.
