Narrative

On 28 December 1954 at dusk, a civilian in Wichita, Kansas observed an unidentified flying object while closing venetian blinds. The object had a revolving light with a reddish glow, appeared to be round, made no sound, and had no exhaust. It first appeared at 20 degrees elevation at 225 degrees azimuth in the southwest, moved slowly southwest, then shot up vertically at very high speed before changing direction to northeast, then northwest, before disappearing over the rooftop. Observed for approximately one minute. Also seen by her son.
