Narrative

On 10 October 1955 at 0100Z a ground observer near Traverse City, Michigan reported a single E-star shaped object held at arm's length. The object was yellow and white initially, changing to red, with intermittent glows getting brighter and dimmer, making no sound. It appeared to bounce in the sky and travel south to north into a cloud bank. Observed for two hours and ten minutes ground-visual. Concluded probably a balloon based on direction of travel substantiated by wind.
