Narrative

On approximately 9 March 1956 at 1235Z near Bellingham, Washington, a Ground Observer Corps observer reported a round dark-grey basketball-sized object in level flight that went behind a mill, observed for two minutes during daylight. Cloud cover was 25-30 percent with very good visibility. The 4602D AISS notes the description and self-opinion of the source supported this object.
