Narrative
On 19 July 1953 at approximately 2245 MST, Robert D. Gravatt, age 17, observed from a car in the Stratton Meadows residential section a round white light moving back and forth in a straight line from north to south. The object remained for about five minutes, appeared to be about 200 feet away, was solid and at about 45-55 degrees elevation, then disappeared from view. Major William H. Stephens concluded the sighting was probably an aircraft climbing to clear mountains surrounding Colorado Springs.
