Narrative

On 3 February 1953 at approximately 2215Z over Dietrich, Idaho, five civilian Ground Observers led by J.V. Salkield watched a silver oblong object with a fish-tail trailing edge for over an hour. Two or three single jets and one bomber were in the area; the jets appeared to be making passes at the bomber. When planes were overhead, the object went into a zig-zag motion as if avoiding contact. The object first appeared at low altitude and disappeared westward at extremely high altitude.
