Narrative
On 24 September 1956, an experienced civilian observer near Custer AFS, Michigan reported a round silver-dollar-sized object changing color silver to red to yellow, west of observer at 270 degrees, 45 degrees elevation. The observer had sighted similar objects before; intercept action was taken. A friend in Hastings, Michigan also sighted the object at approximately 1438Z. Both witnesses computed the object had moved to over the Pacific Ocean by the time of report. The 781st AC&W Squadron at Custer AFS Michigan filed the report.
