Narrative
On 18 May 1956, three guards at the Pueblo Ordnance Depot observed an inverted-bowling-pin-shaped object at elevation 45 deg, azimuth 180 deg. The object appeared stationary and remained in sight at the time of report. Observation was ground visual with binoculars. Routine investigation by the 3rd Weather revealed balloon number S 262 out of Vernalis, California was over the area at the time of the sighting. The sighting was evaluated as a balloon.
