Narrative

At 14/0245Z December 1955, Shreveport Control first called the crew's attention to the presence of the object at about 7000 ft, 53 degrees and 17 miles from Shreveport Municipal. The object was drifting northeasterly and passed beneath the observing aircraft. The sighting lasted five minutes by air-electronic (radar) observation. Winds aloft easterly 15-20 knots supported a balloon theory; conclusion was possible balloon (telemetering type).
