During the sighting

Co-responder with Burroughs and Cabansag on first night Dec 26 1980 to lights in Rendlesham Forest. Claims close approach to a landed triangular craft, ~45-min examination, touched it, observed hieroglyph-like inscriptions. Original 1980/81 notebook & sketches survive.

After the sighting

Stayed largely quiet until 1990s. 1996 Omni: added 45-min examination + touched craft. 2010 (30th anniversary): introduced 16 pages of binary code received via telepathic 'download' when touching craft, decoded into English phrases ('EXPLORATION OF HUMANITY', 'WE RETURNED TO WARN', 'ADVANCE OR PERISH'). Story has continued to grow. Sells books, lectures Coast to Coast AM.

Research notes

Real first-night witness to a real anomalous event with Halt-memo + radiation-trace corroboration (hence non-zero credibility). But elaborated binary-code/time-traveler superstructure is poorly supported, contradicted by his own co-witness, inconsistent with 1980/81 record. Treat 1980-81 testimony as primary; treat anything added post-1994 (especially post-2010) as low-weight.
